Job Description

A great opportunity for someone looking to join an industry leader as a Technical Desk Manager (with a bias towards refrigeration) within the commercial refrigeration and catering industry.

Your principal role will be to support the Field Operations Manager and engineers with technical advice and solutions within the repairs and maintenance activities with industry recognised best practice and standards.

As a Technical Desk Manager, you will possess F Gas qualification, either working or previously worked in a similar role within the same industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to management and engineers.
  • Facilitate technical communications between customer and company.
  • Checking engineer job sheets, advising on, and resolving problems.
  • Support as necessary with instruction and training.
  • Review and investigate on site complaints, concerns and warranty claims.
  • Provide support to all functions within the business in the absence of the Operations Manager.
  • Any other reasonable duties, commensurate with position, to meet business needs.
  • Mainly office based, with occasional requirements for site visits.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Able to communicate and facilitate improvement at all levels in business. Manage customer expectations.
  • NVQ / C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification
  • Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 F-Gas or equivalent CITB certificate
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a refrigeration engineer in service/installation work.
  • In depth experience of all different types of refrigeration systems
  • Knowledge of electrical requirements of refrigeration systems
  • Knowledge and understanding in the application of proprietary controls systems applicable to refrigeration systems
  • To carry out on site, refrigeration equipment installation to acceptable standards
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to plan and prioritise to meet business and customer needs
  • To liaise with customers to ensure work is being carried out to their satisfaction and to identify future potential business.
